Geta was Roman emperor from 209 to 211, son of Septimius Severus and brother of Caracalla. Upon their father's death, he ruled jointly with Caracalla in an atmosphere of extreme rivalry. He was assassinated in 211 on the orders of his brother, who then attempted to erase his memory through the *damnatio memoriae*..

Geta est empereur romain de 209 à 211, fils de Septime Sévère et frère de Caracalla. À la mort de leur père, il gouverne conjointement avec Caracalla dans un climat de rivalité extrême. Il est assassiné en 211 sur ordre de son frère, qui tente ensuite d’effacer sa mémoire par la *damnatio memoriae*.
