Ancient Roman bronze ring with an eye-shaped bezel, decorated with a stylised vine or foliage motif. Wide shoulders and tapering ring band with a small knob in the center of the ring band.

-> In Roman symbolism vegetal ornamentation was often associated with themes of fertility, abundance, and prosperity. Vine motifs in particular could evoke the symbolism of growth and vitality connected with nature and agriculture.. The combination of an eye-shaped bezel (ward off evil) with such imagery may therefore have carried a protective or auspicious meaning.
