賣家描述
Ancient Roman Bronze Snake Bracelet with Stylized Serpent Heads – 1st–3rd Century AD
Shipping: Available only within the European Union in order to remain fully compliant with cultural heritage regulations.
Description
An authentic Ancient Roman bronze snake bracelet formed from a thick bronze rod bent into a penannular open bangle terminating in two stylized serpent heads.
Each terminal is slightly thickened and flattened to form a schematic snake head, with small punched depressions representing the eyes of the serpent. The heads face one another in the traditional confronting arrangement characteristic of Roman serpent jewelry.
The bracelet displays a smooth circular profile and retains a dark olive-green archaeological patina with lighter mineral deposits, consistent with long burial and undisturbed surfaces.
The restrained stylization of the serpent heads is typical of Roman provincial jewelry, where symbolic representation often replaced detailed sculptural rendering.
Specifications:
Material: Bronze
Culture: Roman Empire
Date: 1st–3rd century AD
Weight: 29.19 g
Inner diameter: 57.3 mm

household protection, linked to domestic guardian spirits.
