Released in 1984, the GX-4000D is the improved version of the iconic 4000DS model, which was first marketed in the early 1970s.
The GX-4000D is a dual-speed ¼-inch tape recorder, using ¼-inch tape with a maximum reel capacity of 7 inches. This recorder can record up to four individual audio tracks in two formats: either two stereo recordings (one in each direction) or four mono recordings (two in each direction), at speeds of 7.5 fps (fast) or 3.75 fps (slow).
The famous GX (Glass & Xtal ferrite) heads are renowned for their durability.
This recorder has been fully serviced by a professional; the speed selector ring is not included.
