Large Attic Calyx Krater in the manner of the Phiale Painter – mythological scene – 37 cm

Large decorative calyx krater inspired by Attic red-figure pottery of classical antiquity.

The scene is based on a work attributed to the Phiale Painter (circa 440–435 BC), whose original is held in the Gregorian Etruscan Museum of the Vatican City.

The vessel features a finely composed scene with multiple figures in classical attire, reflecting the elegance and expressive quality of 5th century BC Attic vase painting.

With a height of 37 cm, this is an unusually large and visually striking piece, ideal as both a collector’s object and a decorative centerpiece.

The piece is made of ceramic and hand-painted. Unlike ancient originals, it was not produced using traditional firing techniques, but represents a decorative artistic interpretation of a historical model.
