This is a dignified and elegant double-handled vase, a product of the traditional craft of Takaoka copperware from Toyama Prefecture.

Product Details
Artist: Shūgetsu. Known as a Takaoka copperware artist, his work is characterized by a stable style that cherishes traditional aesthetic beauty.
Material and Technique: Cast copper.
Made using the casting technique, where molten copper is poured into a mold. It has a deep, calm, antique copper (dark brown) luster, and the surface is smoothly polished.

Design:
Double-handled: The most distinctive feature is the handles (ears) positioned on both sides of the neck. These ears are a design called "dragon ears" (ryūji), modeled after the form of a dragon (or phoenix), and have been used in high-class vases since ancient times.
Form: The "bottom-bulging" shape, which gently bulges towards the bottom, provides stability and looks exceptionally beautiful when displayed in a Japanese-style alcove (tokonoma).
Signature: The "Shūgetsu" inscription, visible in the enlarged image on the right, is proof of the artist's authenticity.
Condition and Value
Condition: No noticeable scratches or dents are visible, suggesting it has been carefully stored. The copperware exhibits the characteristic "patina" (depth due to age), enhancing its artistic appeal.
