The sixth edition of the Prehistoric Life II series, produced in Congo, is dedicated to the Velociraptor. The motif of the 0,5 gram 99.99% pure gold coin shows a Velociraptor hunting a small prey, as well as another Velociraptor in the background in front of a prehistoric mountain range. Above the scene are the inscriptions "PREHISTORIC LIFE", "VELOCIRAPTOR MONGOLIENSIS", "75 - 71 MIO YEARS BC" and the mint year 2025. On the reverse are the coat of arms of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as the weight, fineness, and face value.

The Velociraptor was a small bipedal carnivorous dinosaur that lived in the late Cretaceous in what is now Mongolia. It belonged to the dromaeosaurids and measured about two meters in length, with a distinctive sickle-shaped claw on its feet, which was likely used to grasp and wound prey. Fossils show that it possessed feathers, which brings it closer to the ancestors of modern birds.
