■ Description
This lot consists of a set of two Tokoname teapots, allowing you to appreciate different expressions of the Nerikomi technique.
⸻
① Tokoname Ware Nerikomi Teapot – Unzen Kiln (Kiln-Transformed Clay)
This piece is a Nerikomi teapot produced by the Unzen kiln, a traditional Tokoname ware workshop from Aichi, Japan.
Created using the Nerikomi technique, multiple layers of differently colored clays (green, red, and black) are carefully combined, resulting in beautiful marbled stripe patterns that vary uniquely from piece to piece. The flowing patterns formed through wheel-throwing enhance both its artistic and decorative qualities.
The firing process introduces subtle kiln transformations, giving the piece a deep color tone and smooth texture. The overall form—from the body to the spout and handle—demonstrates a harmonious and well-balanced design.
A built-in ceramic strainer is included, making it highly functional for daily use.
