An authentic Tuareg dagger (Tebu) with lizard skin and leather sheet
Niger - Mid 20th century
Secured by the thick, braided leather loop.
Features a sheath covered in lizard skin and red-dyed leather; the blade is double-edged steel.
Historically a self-defense weapon, it now serves as a significant cultural status symbol.
Length = 32 cm
Weight = 135 g
In fair condition. Normal traces of age and use. Iron parts are a bit rusty. Light damage to the leather on the hilt (see photos 6 and 7).
For a good impression, please watch all photos carefully.
