2 original hand-coloured steel engraving, dated 1846 and 1848, by Captain Radefeld from Meyer’s Großer Handatlas, published by the Bibliographisches Institut in Hildburghausen.
The first map shows Asia politically, delineated by political borders. The second map shows the catchment areas of Asia’s major rivers and indicates where the rivers flow. At the bottom left is a list of the largest rivers, stating the extent of the river system and the “direct distance from the mouth to the source.”
