本作描绘一只冠鱼狗鹭安静地伫立在清新绿意之间。冠鱼狗鹭是栖息于日本的普通翠鱼鹭的近亲，以其黑白斑驳的纹样为特征。与鸟的纤细、精准描绘形成对照，背景的树木被简化，表达出木刻版画的质感。

艺术家简介：
1947年生于长野县。长期从教，假日登山观鸟，积累了成千上万张照片。晚年开始创作木刻版画。基于多年的观察，他的主要主题是通过木刻印刷这一媒介，表达对野生鸟类的准确描绘。
