賣家描述
Art Deco Sterling Silver Box – Gilded Interior – 131 g - sterling silver
A refined and beautifully preserved Art Deco sterling silver box, made early 1900.
A multifunctional luxury piece suitable for business cards, jewellery, cigarettes, calling cards, or as an elegant desk accessory.
This rectangular silver box is executed in a sleek, engine-turned Art Deco pattern, typical of the 1930s. The exterior is decorated with a refined geometric engine-turned pattern, composed of alternating vertical line panels, a design that is highly characteristic of the Art Deco period (circa 1920–1935).
The interior is finished in gold wash, a traditional technique used to protect the silver and to add a luxurious contrast to the crisp, architectural exterior. The box closes properly and still retains its original internal elastic band, indicating careful use and good preservation.
The interior is richly fire-gilded (vermeil), offering a warm golden contrast to the cool silver exterior and enhancing the luxurious feel of the piece.
The hinge and closure work perfectly; the box opens and closes smoothly and securely.
