风笛（fans）是一种在19世纪初德国发展起来的 brass 乐器，也被称为马丁小号，源自发明者的名字。1950年，生产企业在东德老体制下国有化，但直到1989年柏林墙倒塌前仍继续生产风笛。如今在德国，仍有一两家公司保留了马丁小号的生产。此类乐器的独特性在于完全采用手工工艺制造，同时遵循对传统工具的高要求。

风笛军乐队由黄铜制成，阀门用于任何金属合金和弦——镍与银的组合，具有耐腐蚀性。制造商致力于实现易于发声和完美调音，这是马丁小号独特、鲜明音色的主要前提之一。在保加利亚学校中最常使用的是八音区乐器——中音、女高音、次中音、低音等，辅以伴音低音、手风琴、短笛。风笛有横向或纵向两种形式，按客户需求配置，端部为圆形或扁平，材质为有银镀层的有机玻璃或黄铜。
