賣家描述
Auction Title:
Set of 4 Neolithic Flint Tools – Elongated Blades & Side-Scrapers (8–14.2 cm) – Old European Collection
Technical Description:
A high-quality typological selection of six lithic artifacts dating to the Neolithic period. This group is focused on elongated blades and robust cutting or scraping tools, expertly knapped from premium-grade flint. The collection features a beautiful chromatic diversity, showing a fine contrast between translucent honey-mottled tones, mineralized greys, and cream-colored chalky patinas.
Main Specimens (up to 14.2 cm): The lot includes long, slender cutting blades with distinct parallel edges and well-preserved dorsal ridges, alongside broad side-scrapers (racloirs).
Technique: Excellent examples of advanced percussion flaking, with clear evidence of fine marginal retouching along the functional edges and micro-wear resulting from ancient domestic use.
Dating & Culture:
Period: Middle to Late Neolithic.
Date: Approx. 4500 – 2500 BC.
Culture: Consistent with the developed Western European Neolithic lithic traditions, representing the classic tools utilized by agricultural and pastoral communities.
Origin: From an old European private collection formed in the mid-20th century.
Certificate of Authenticity is included.
Condition:
Excellent archaeological condition. All six specimens are structurally intact, showing no modern alterations, modifications, or restorations. The authentic environmental soil patina and natural mineralization are beautifully preserved across all surfaces.
Dimensions:
Maximum length: 14.2 cm
Minimum length: 8 cm
