賣家描述
Sweetpea スイートピー(すいーとぴー)|Yamaguchi Kazuo 山口和雄(やまぐちかずお)
Kazuo Yamaguchi, a contemporary Japanese printmaker, specializes in a visionary and quiet expression as if motifs emerge from darkness. He is famous for using mezzotint (a technique where countless scratches are made across the entire plate with a tool called a rocker, and white is expressed by scraping them), where the subject emerges white from a jet-black background, and in this artwork as well, the beautiful contrast where the delicate petals and winding tendrils of the flower dramatically emerge from within the deep shadows is attractive.
There are stains in various places on the margin section, to the extent that they can be hidden by a mat.
Born in Tokyo in 1949.
Achieved success in numerous exhibitions, including the Japan Print Association Exhibition.
Currently active mainly in solo exhibitions.
