賣家描述
Kasama ware “Yuteki Tenmoku” matcha tea bowl by Japanese ceramic artist 山崎 俊雄 (Toshio Yamazaki), presented with its original signed wooden box (tomobako) and artist biography sheet.
Inside the lid of the wooden box is the inscription:
“笠間焼 (Kasama Ware) – 釉滴天目抹茶碗 (Yuteki Tenmoku Matcha Bowl) – 俊雄 (Toshio)”
The bowl features a deep black glaze with delicate blue kiln-transformed effects emerging beneath the surface. Fine crystalline patterns reminiscent of oil-spot tenmoku spread across the bowl, creating a calm and atmospheric appearance that shifts between dark blue and black depending on the light.
The form is elegant and well balanced, with smooth curves and a refined foot that enhance its presence as a tea ceremony vessel. It is also an appealing example of modern Japanese studio pottery and contemporary ceramic art.
The included artist biography sheet documents Toshio Yamazaki’s background as a Kasama ware ceramic artist and his exhibition history in Japan.
Rather than being overly dramatic, this piece embodies the quiet depth and refined beauty characteristic of Japanese contemporary ceramics.
