Semi-Automatic "One-Touch" System: Ignition is achieved in a single movement, by pressing the prominent rectangular button located on the top.
Full Synchronized Cycle: When pressed, the mechanism instantly releases the internal spring, causing the entire golden upper section to automatically tilt upwards. This gesture simultaneously raises the integrated protective cover, uncovers the wick and activates the toothed wheel over the stone to generate the spark.
Mechanical Condition: Excellent. The internal spring maintains a strong tension, the toothed wheel shows no pronounced wear and produces a firm spark with each trigger. The piece is complete and includes the original cotton wick.
Materials, Design and Finish
Tortoiseshell Effect: The rectangular central body is made of high-quality Bakelite or Lucite, with a gorgeous pattern in warm shades of brown and amber, typical of luxury accessories of that era.
Gold Plated: The upper mechanical assembly and the middle frames are made of gold-plated/blown metal. It presents a discreet natural patina of oxidation around the joints, which attests to its age and the preservation of the original finish, without reconditioning interventions.
