In 1997, Emmanuel Reynaud succeeded his uncle Jacques, who passed away suddenly, as head of Château Rayas and Château des Tours. The terroirs of the two properties are, however, very different. At Château des Tours, he produces wines on nearly 40 hectares under the Vacqueyras, Côtes-du-Rhône, Vin de Pays du Vaucluse, and even a Vin de Table called Parisy. This last wine is a rosé whose color is reminiscent of Bordeaux Clairet and whose aromas of rose are also present. The red Côtes-du-Rhône and Vin de Pays du Vaucluse wines are full-bodied wines that appeal to lovers of sun-drenched wines. The Vacqueyras requires more time to develop and also to reveal greater complexity.
