Vintage Soviet Miniature Lacquer Boxes – Set of 2 (Fedoskino & Floral Motif)
A charming set of two vintage Soviet-era papier-mâché lacquer boxes, each featuring a classic red lacquer interior. Perfect for collectors of Russian lacquer art or unique decorative accents.
Box 1 (Fedoskino): A beautiful hand-painted miniature box depicting a traditional Russian village folk scene (Khorovod/Round Dance). Signed by the artist Pisulina I. (Писулина И.) and dated 1979. The bottom features a commemorative gold inscription for the 1980 Moscow Olympics: "Москва Олимпиада-80".
Box 2 (Floral): A larger, elegant square box decorated with a delicate hand-painted composition of daisies (chamomiles), forget-me-nots, and a butterfly against a deep black lacquer background.
Condition
Both items are in good vintage condition with minor surface wear and light scratches consistent with age and authentic use. The hand-painted miniatures remain vibrant, and the lacquer retains its glossy finish.
