Vintage Toshiba "IC Brightron" Color TV Commemorative Display Fan - Phoenix & Paulownia Motif (c. 1974) - Complete Set with Box & Stand

A fascinating piece of Japanese industrial and advertising history from the mid-1970s. This premium, non-for-sale (Not for Sale) commemorative display fan was produced by Toshiba (then Tokyo Shibaura Electric / Toshiba Shoji) to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of their groundbreaking color television series, the "IC Brightron."

During the early 1970s, Japan experienced a historic economic boom, and the color TV was the ultimate symbol of modern household luxury. Toshiba’s "Brightron" technology revolutionized the market with its exceptionally bright picture tube, followed by the "IC Brightron" which introduced integrated circuits for instant-on capability and durability.

This heavy, sculptural decorative fan (sensu shape) was gifted exclusively to select customers or top-performing dealers. The front features a dramatic, high-relief three-dimensional carving of a Phoenix (Hou-ou) and Paulownia (Kiri) leaves, traditional Japanese symbols of good fortune, prosperity, and imperial celebration. The reverse side bears the embossed retro Toshiba branding and anniversary text.

This is a complete, well-preserved collector's set that perfectly captures the "Showa Retro" aesthetic and early Japanese tech-industry advertising.

Condition:
Excellent vintage condition (Near Mint). The gold, silver, and black lacquer-style colors remain incredibly vibrant, and the orange decorative tassels are intact. There is very minor, negligible paint wear/chipping on the very outer edge of the fan due to age (as shown in the final photos), which does not affect the stunning overall display. Comes complete with its original presentation box (sleeve), the original Washi paper explanation sheet from Toshiba, and the original plastic display stand.
