賣家描述
Striking Continental European Art Deco walking cane featuring a distinctive 880 silver-mounted crook handle. The handle features a striking raised geometric pattern composed of polished oval and circular elements set against a darkened textured ground, creating a bold sculptural appearance characteristic of Art Deco design.
The silver mount bears an 880 silver mark together with additional maker's marks. The cane is fitted with a sleek black shaft that provides an attractive contrast to the bright silver handle. The cane retains what appears to be its original natural horn tip.
The cane remains straight and displays a pleasing aged patina. The silver mount retains an attractive appearance with light surface wear consistent with age and use. An old repair to the silver mount at the junction of the handle and collar is visible in the photographs. The shaft shows age-related surface marks and minor imperfections commensurate with careful use over time.
The 880 silver mark suggests Continental European, possibly Scandinavian, manufacture.
A decorative and collectible Art Deco cane combining elegant proportions, unusual silverwork and fine craftsmanship. The distinctive geometric decoration and quality silver-mounted handle make it an especially attractive example of early 20th-century design. Length: 88 cm.
Good antique condition with age-related wear, surface marks and minor imperfections. The silver mount shows evidence of an old repair, visible in the photographs. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
