Exquisite centerpiece or serving platter for hot food, with a lid, of French origin, dating from the mid-20th century.
This elegant centerpiece features classic lines and an original combination of materials, uniting the sophistication of alpaca with the functionality of a traditional glazed ceramic casserole dish in a warm brown tone. The domed lid is crowned by a striking sculptural lobster-shaped handle, a classic motif in French silverware and serving pieces, intended for presenting seafood or fish stews. The metal base features an elegant wavy rim with braided cord decoration (ref), which enhances its refined silhouette.

-Condition: The item is in good vintage condition, consistent with the photos, its age, and normal use. It has a beautiful natural patina on the metal, minor surface scratches, and slight marks (dents) or imperfections due to age, which add character. The interior ceramic retains its original glazed shine with minimal expected wear (no cracks) on the unglazed base.
*Note: It should be noted that the front legs of the decorative lobster on the lid are loose from the surface (it is unknown if they were originally attached at those ends). However, the main body of the lobster acts as a handle, completely firm, robust, and fixed, guaranteeing a secure grip without detaching.
