Something was holding together — and then it wasn't.
"Before the Grid Breaks" is built from accumulated tension: geometric fields that push against each other, crimson planes pressing through olive and black, circles cut open by diagonal lines as though the composition itself is mid-fracture. Rice paper collage is worked into the acrylic surface, softening edges where the paint has worn through — adding a fragility that contradicts the boldness of the structure. The result is a painting that feels suspended at a precise moment: ordered enough to read as architecture, unstable enough to feel like collapse.
The palette — deep red, military green, raw gold, charcoal black — carries weight without decoration. There is no relief here, no soft passage. Every zone of the canvas holds its ground.

Frame: Floating hidden wood frame
