Vintage Zassenhaus Wall-Mounted Coffee Grinder - Ceramic & Cast Iron - 1960s
A beautiful and fully complete vintage wall-mounted manual coffee grinder, manufactured in Western Germany by the renowned brand Zassenhaus during the mid-20th century (circa 1960s-1970s).
This classic kitchen collectible features a square cream-colored ceramic/porcelain hopper decorated with traditional blue floral motifs and the classic German gothic script inscription "Kaffee". The mechanical grinding unit is crafted from robust cast iron and is operated via a curved metal hand crank with a contoured wooden handle. The entire assembly is securely mounted on its original polished contoured wooden wall plaque.
Unlike many surviving examples, this piece is 100% complete and includes both of its easily lost detachable parts: the original dark wooden top lid and the original clear molded glass receiving cup with measurement lines.
An exceptional rustic decorative item or a great addition to any kitchenalia, vintage coffee enthusiast, or European antiques collection.
- Ceramic Hopper: Excellent vintage condition, no structural cracks, hairline fractures, or chips. Minor interior coffee oil staining from authentic historical use.
- Mechanical Parts: The cast iron mechanism retains a beautiful dark aged patina with minor surface oxidation/rust consistent with age. The crank mechanism moves.
- Glass Cup: Excellent condition, completely intact with no chips, cracks, or flea bites on the sliding rims.
- Wooden Plaque & Lid: Good structural condition with minor superficial wear and a warm aged varnish.
- Overall: Untouched, original vintage condition. Suitable for display as-is or a straightforward project for functional restoration.
Dimensions :
- Height: 40.5 cm
- Width: 18.5 cm
- Depth: 19.5 cm
