This lot consists of two vintage Japanese Yanagiba knives, both traditionally crafted single-bevel slicing knives designed for the preparation of sashimi and other delicate Japanese cuisine.

The larger knife is signed 「堺雅重別作」 (Sakai Masashige Betsusaku) and retains the original branded handle marked 「堺雅重別打」.

The second knife is signed 「玉椿別作」 (Tamatsubaki Betsusaku) and retains the original branded handle marked 「堺登録玉椿」.

These knives represent the long-standing blade-making traditions of Sakai, one of Japan's most respected historic centers of cutlery production. Their traditional construction, hand-finished appearance, and evident signs of age reflect decades of practical use and preservation.
