Published by Moco Museum / Amsterdam.

Keith Allen Haring, an icon of graffiti, the pop generation and the street culture of New York in the 1980s. This decade owes the best of its aesthetics to this artist who knew how to turn his simple cartoon-like forms into icons. His very particular work ranges from the New York subway to the Berlin Wall.

Born in Pennsylvania, he began drawing inspired by TV cartoons, one of his main sources of inspiration. When it was his turn to become a man, he decided to study art at the Ivy School of Art in Pittsburgh and later moved to New York City.

It was there that he began his graffiti in felt-tip pen on top of advertisements in the subway. Little by little he built his own universe with these recognizable figures that soon became icons. Anonymity eventually disappeared, and Haring became an artist to be taken into account in museums as well.

Size: 50 x 50 cm.
