Prince Shotoku (572-621) was an important male member of the Japanese imperial family during the Asuka period and a key figure in the political reforms implemented during the reign of Empress Suiko. He was the second son of Emperor Yomei. The name Prince Shotoku, widely used since the Heian period, is essentially a posthumous honorific title, not his actual name during his lifetime.
Furthermore, Prince Shotoku is beloved by the people due to the many legendary tales surrounding him. Collectors should not miss this opportunity.
