花瓶 - 瓷器 - 中國 - 清康熙（1662-1722）

antique Chinese blue and white porcelain 'Qilin & Prunus' ginger jar / vase with wooden cover, dating to the Kangxi period, c.1662–1722.

The jar is finely painted in underglaze blue with Three shaped reserve panels, each enclosing a qilin in a landscape setting with rocks, clouds and pine trees. The surrounding ground is decorated with a dense cracked-ice and prunus blossom pattern, a classic Kangxi-period design. The base bears a double-ring mark in underglaze blue. The jar is accompanied by a later carved wooden cover.

Overall size including cover: H 25.5 cm.
Jar size: Height 23 cm x Width 18 cm.

Condition: overall in very good antique condition. There is a tiny nick to the unglazed top rim and some firing flaws to the inner rim, consistent with manufacture and age. The wooden cover has age-related wear and old cracks/repairs. Please see the photo gallery for details.
