賣家描述
antique meerschaum tobacco pipe featuring a superbly hand-carved figural bowl in the form of a bearded man wearing a detailed wrapped turban, adorned with a floral jewel medallion at the centre. The face displays strong, expressive features — stern brow, full moustache and beard — rendered with exceptional carving skill. The turban shows finely incised ribbing throughout with a decorative finial at the crown.
The bowl has developed a warm honey-amber patina around the shank from use, characteristic of genuine meerschaum that has been smoked. The shank transitions into a dark ebonite/vulcanite stem with a gentle elegant curve.
Material: Genuine meerschaum bowl, natural amber-coloured shank, ebonite stem
Dimensions: 13.5 × 8 × 3.5 cm
Weight: 32g
Shape: Figural — turbaned Sultan or Maharaja portrait head
Condition: Very good antique condition; bowl shows age-appropriate patina and darkening consistent with genuine meerschaum; no cracks
Estimated Age: Circa 1880–1920 (late Victorian to Edwardian era)
Provenance: Central European or Ottoman craft tradition; this style of turbaned figure pipe was commonly produced in Vienna, Budapest, and Constantinople during this period
