Attractive bronze oil lamp filler measuring 11 cm in length. The piece features a rounded reservoir, a long nozzle with circular wick-hole, and a wide, elaborately decorated handle with scalloped edges and fine embossed patterns. The surface displays a rich dark patina with attractive green verdigris highlights, especially on the decorative wings of the handle. This is a charming and well-preserved example of everyday lighting equipment.
Oil lamps like this were widely used in domestic, religious, and funerary contexts throughout the Roman and Byzantine Empire.
