A Chance to bid on this Gorgeous handmade natural mother-of-pearl egg - shaped box/ pendant made from a large shell mother-of-pearl shell mounted in a gilded brass frame with decorative ridged edges.

The mother-of-pearl displays beautiful iridescent sheens in shades of pink, blue, and green. High-quality French craftsmanship from the second half of the 19th century.
The iridescent nacre ("rainbow" sheen) is characteristic of genuine shell
I suppose that the shell has been mounted without significantly altering its natural shape, creating a substantial statement pendant/ egg
The artist also attaches a circular ring type bale where the box can be worn as a pendant.
This object may have served as a small display box, a miniature jewelry box, a pendant or simply as an ornament.
