Model History:

The Seiko 5 7S26-3040 is a classic late-1990s example of Seiko’s long-running automatic everyday watch line. The Seiko 5 series was built around five core principles: automatic winding, day-date display, water resistance, a durable case and a recessed crown. These practical features made the Seiko 5 one of the brand’s most successful and recognisable collections.

This reference is powered by the Seiko 7S26 automatic calibre, one of Seiko’s most widely used modern mechanical movements. Introduced in the 1990s, the 7S26 became known for its reliability, simple construction and excellent parts availability. It was used across many Seiko 5 and entry-level automatic models for decades, making it an important calibre in Seiko’s modern history.

This particular 7S26-3040 stands out with its elegant two-tone dark blue dial, gold-coloured applied details, framed day-date window and original steel bracelet. Condition:

The watch is in very nice vintage condition overall. The dial is especially attractive, with a deeper outer tone, subtle central contrast and gold-coloured applied hour markers. The Seiko logo, Seiko 5 shield and “Automatic” text are clean and well preserved. The hands and day-date frame show matching gold-coloured detailing, giving the watch a refined and balanced appearance.

The stainless steel case presents well, with brushed and polished surfaces and only light signs of careful previous use. The original Seiko bracelet is fitted and remains in good condition, with visible age-appropriate wear. It currently fits up to approximately 18 cm wrist circumference.

The crystal has been replaced with a new, scratch-free one, giving the dial a clear and fresh appearance. The luminous material is still reactive, as shown in the photos.

The automatic movement has been serviced and is fully functional. The watch is sold with a 3-month functionality guarantee.
