This painting presents a splendid coastal view viewed from a garden elevated and completely covered with flowers. In the foreground, there is an exuberant combination of yellow, red, violet, white and pink plants, while beyond, a tranquil stretch of water leads the eye to a white village situated on the opposite shore. Behind the houses rise dark, rolling hills beneath a sky full of bright clouds. The scene conveys a sense of abundance, serenity and natural beauty, uniting the joy of a blooming garden with the calm of a small seaside town.

The foreground constitutes a true explosion of color. Numerous flowers cluster together with hardly any empty spaces, forming a vegetal band that occupies the entire lower part. Some appear large and clearly visible, while others are reduced to small luminous notes among the stems and leaves. This abundance creates a sense of free and generous nature, as if the garden had grown spontaneously before the sea.

In the lower left corner, rose, violet and white flowers predominate. Their light colors contrast with the dark greens of the leaves and with the shadows among the stems. Some flowers seem to lean toward the water, guiding the gaze gently from the vegetation to the bay. The small yellow and reddish reflections distributed among them provide rhythm and prevent this area from becoming uniform.

Between the flowers rise thin stems, elongated leaves and branches that add movement. Some plants seem to tilt slightly, as if a breeze from the water were passing through the garden. The vegetal forms interlace and form a natural network full of tiny details. This richness makes the foreground a living space and invites one to imagine the aromas, sounds and freshness of the place.

On the right, a large tree with hanging branches frames the view. Its dark canopy descends in long green masses dotted with small white and light reflections. The tree provides shade and creates a strong contrast with the brightness of the flowers and the village. Its presence acts as a vegetal curtain that protects the garden and guides the eye toward the central part.

The descending branches of the tree seem to mingle with the flowers beneath them. Deep greens, almost black in places, give depth and stability to this zone. Among the foliage appear small pink, yellow and orange notes suggesting flowers or light reflections. The tree thus acts as a grand natural frame balancing the open expanse of the water.

Reflections beneath some of them extend their colors onto the water. Although no people are observed, the vessels suggest the town’s fishing or maritime life.

The village extends horizontally at the foot of the hills. The buildings, rendered in white, cream and slightly yellowish tones, form a luminous band that contrasts with the dark mountain. The buildings appear very close to each other, creating a small compact community by the water. The simplicity of their shapes reinforces the sense of a traditional locality.

In the center of the village a church with a slender tower stands out. Its vertical silhouette rises above the roofs and becomes the main architectural reference of the scene. The clouds are not menacing, but voluminous and luminous. Their presence helps distribute a soft light over the village, the water and the garden.

The composition is organized through a clear succession of planes. First comes the lush garden; then the tranquil bay; then the boats and the village; finally, the hills and the sky. This progression directs the gaze from the closest details to the breadth of the horizon.
