a substantial cast bronze signet ring featuring a robust oval hoop supporting a broad circular bezel. The upper surface is decorated with deeply incised intersecting lines arranged into an irregular geometric composition, possibly intended as a highly stylised personal mark, monogram or abstract sealing device. Although surface wear and mineral deposits obscure part of the design, the engraving appears deliberate rather than purely accidental.

The broad disc-shaped bezel, heavy integral construction and non-figural engraved device are consistent with signet rings used during the transition from the Late Roman to the Early Byzantine period. Bronze examples of this type served as affordable personal ornaments and could also function as identifying seals for documents, containers or private possessions. The surface displays a dark brown and green archaeological patina, with scattered cuprite tones, mineral deposits and extensive wear consistent with prolonged burial.
