賣家描述
Brazilian natural kyanite crystal mounted on a rotating black metal base, a vertical, slender and highly scenographic specimen, ideal as a decorative mineral, a mineralogical sample for collection and a natural history object for contemporary interiors. The elongated shape of the piece extraordinarily enhances the typical structure of kyanite: lamellar and prismatic crystals, arranged in dense, overlapping, oriented aggregates, like mineral shards born from ancient and deep pressure. Kyanite, also known by its English name kyanite, is an aluminum silicate. Its name derives from the Greek kyanos, meaning blue, referring to the mineral’s most famous and sought-after color. In this specimen the color shows tones of intense blue, ice blue, blue-silver, and pearly gray, with metallic and glassy reflections that change with the light angle. The crystal lamellae feature shiny surfaces, natural striations and live fractures, creating a dynamic visual effect. The structure of the sample presents a natural interweaving of crystal units. This growth gives the piece a character resembling a blue column or a blue flame. The black base emphasizes its verticality and transforms the specimen into an exhibit presence, suitable for a mineralogical showcase or a design interior environment. Kyanite is a mineral typical of aluminum-rich metamorphic rocks. It forms under high pressure and temperature when ancient argillaceous sediments or aluminous rocks are transformed deep by tectonic pressure. For this reason it is also considered an indicator mineral: its presence tells a story of regional metamorphism, continental collisions, crust compression, and long geological processes occurring deep underground. Kyanite belongs to the same chemical group as andalusite and sillimanite, two other minerals with the same composition but different crystal structures. This feature makes it particularly interesting for the study of metamorphic geology: same chemical content, but different forms born from different pressure and temperature conditions. Kyanite crystals are often found accompanying quartz, mica, garnet, staurolite, feldspars and other typical minerals of metamorphic schists, gneisses and pegmatites. Brazil is renowned for numerous high-quality collectible minerals, and Brazilian kyanite is appreciated for its blue color, luster, and the possibility of presenting itself in dramatic and decorative crystals. As a decorative element this kyanite is elegant and vertical, capable of making a strong statement in modern interiors or spaces dedicated to natural history."
