White-glazed Seven Stars Surrounding the Moon Cup and Saucer

With official Chinese cultural relics appraisal certificate from 2001 identifying the item as a Tang dynasty white-glazed "Seven Star" cup and tray set.

Description:

The entire piece is composed of nine pieces: seven cups, one bowl, and a saucer. The cups have round mouths and deep bodies, while the bowls have flared mouths and deep bodies. The bowl is positioned in the center of the saucer, surrounded by seven cups, resembling seven stars surrounding the moon. The saucer has a constricted mouth and a shallow foot ring, tapering sharply from the rim to the foot. The saucer, cups, and bowls are unglazed at the foot; otherwise, the entire piece is covered in a bluish-white glaze with a grayish tint, and the shape is simple and archaic. One cup has a small crack at the rim, but otherwise it is in excellent condition.

This piece dates back to the Tang Dynasty, approximately 608-960 AD, and was made by Chinese hands. The exposed clay reveals its material and production date.

Condition:

Good condition with signs of use. One cup has a chipped lip; the rest are in good condition, without cracks, and have been examined with strong UV light. (Please refer to the photos if the text is not clear enough.)
