Irezumi has from the beginning been a predominantly male tattoo tradition. Even if a few women began getting full Irezumi bodysuit tattoos early on, it has not evolved with the female body in mind.

A growing number of female clients today desire Irezumi bodysuit tattoos. Designing for a wide range of female bodies adds to the challenge of creating strong and beautiful designs. Senju is continuously exploring the various elements that together makes the tradition. Traditional Irezumi mainly draws inspiration and themes from Ukiyo-e woodblock prints and paintings, but there is so much more to discover. Over the past decade, Senju has continuously studied the kimono and the possibilities kimono design offer when designing Irezumi for the female body.

Senju dedicate himself to painting also digital now and his career as an artist.
His Giclees, (higest Digital print form) are printed on 230gr. Hahnemuelhe Studio enhanced paper.
