Consequently, the manufacturer stamped a consolidated list of patents onto the movement plate, covering elements such as:\n\nthe balance and regulator,\nthe escapement,\nthe winding and time-setting mechanism,\nthe motion work,\nthe mainspring.\n\nMost of these designs were developed by engineers associated with the Waterbury Clock Company—most notably Ernest H. Horn. Since older patents continued to be used in later Ingersoll movements, a single watch might display patent dates ranging from 1907 to 1922.\n\nGiven the serial number 70 218 579, dating the watch to approximately 1926–1927 remains the most likely scenario.
