賣家描述
keris panjang kelengen (execution keris) lurus from South Sumatra
Keris panjang means "long keris", a keris mostly associated with Sumatra. They were prestigious long versions of the regular keris only worn by people of status. They are also known as "execution keris", as several historical accounts refer to their use as such. Although the name ‘execution keris’ is reminiscent of an executioner’s weapon, the keris panjang is primarily a fighting weapon that was also used for executions. During the VOC period, many Western influences came to the archipelago. This keris is big (70 cm!) the wilah measures ca. 57 cm; a true execution keris. It is a legendary and powerful Javanese keris from Indonesian folklore, famous as the weapon of the warrior Arya Penangsang, known for its bloodthirsty reputation and role in the Babad Tanah Jawi (Javanese history), and originally attributed to the master smith Mpu Supo Mandrangi.
