賣家描述
Vintage Elma Elmatest Watch Timing Machine / Timegrapher – c. 1965
A fascinating vintage Elma Elmatest timegrapher, dating from around 1965, made for professional watchmakers to analyse the accuracy and beat of mechanical watches. The Elmatest is an early transistorized timing machine with an integrated mechanical paper recorder, producing graphical traces on a continuous paper strip.
The machine retains its original paper-feed mechanism, roller assembly and paper roll with carbon ribbon. The front panel provides settings for 18,000, 19,800 and 21,600 beats per hour, typical frequencies for vintage mechanical watches.
A particularly attractive piece of mid-century horological and industrial design, ideal for a watchmaker, horology collector, museum or vintage scientific-instrument collection.
Condition
Good original vintage condition with authentic age-related wear, scratches and patina to the painted housing.
The machine has not been fully tested for electronic operation, calibration or printing accuracy. As a seller I dont not have the specialist knowledge required to safely test or calibrate this precision instrument and has deliberately refrained from doing so in order to avoid damaging the mechanism.
The internal paper mechanism appears complete and the rollers can be operated. The external acoustic microphone is not included.
