This small chest by 高山けやき工芸 Takayama Keyaki Kogei exemplifies the refined woodworking tradition of Hida-Takayama, where master craftsmen — heirs to a lineage stretching back to the Heian period — have long worked with 欅 keyaki (Japanese zelkova), one of Japan's most prized cabinet woods.

The piece combines three drawers with a separate door compartment, offering thoughtfully organized storage in a compact footprint.
