An exceptionally heavy and high-quality pair of antique brass baluster candlesticks, dating from the second half of the 19th century (c. 1850-1880).

This pair stands out due to its rare, solid construction; despite a compact height of 18.5 cm, the candlesticks weigh no less than 1200 grams each.

The underside of the bases clearly shows the authentic, concentric lathe marks from the historical turning process used to flatten the cast pieces for maximum stability.

The candlesticks are completely solid cast in one piece, containing no fillers like plaster or cement, and are not assembled with later nut/bolt rods.

A beautiful, timeless, and extremely stable pair for collectors of fine antique metalware. The set is in good, used condition with a beautiful, authentic patina.
