Obv: Helmeted head of Ares right.
Rev: AMI - ΣOV.
Sword in sheath; star-in-crescent to upper left, monogram to lower left.
SNG BM Black Sea 1164; HGC 7, 241.
Weight 8.5 g.
Orichalcum was a valuable golden-colored brass alloy used by Romans and Greeks to mint coins . Valued for its gold-like appearance, it was considered more valuable than copper.
