This painting presents a splendid coastal view observed from an elevated garden completely covered with flowers. In the foreground there stretches an exuberant combination of yellow, red, violet, white and pink plants, while, beyond, a tranquil stretch of water leads the eye to a white village located on the opposite shore. Behind the houses rise dark, undulating hills under a sky filled with luminous clouds. The scene conveys a sense of abundance, serenity and natural beauty, uniting the joy of a blooming garden with the calm of a small seaside town.

The foreground constitutes a true explosion of color. Numerous flowers cluster together leaving hardly any gaps, forming a plant strip that occupies the entire bottom part. Some appear large and clearly visible, while others reduce to small bright notes among stems and leaves. This abundance creates a sense of free and generous nature, as if the garden had grown spontaneously against the sea.

In the lower left extreme predominate pink, violet and white flowers. Their light colors contrast with the dark greens of the leaves and with the shadows between the stems. Some flowers seem to lean toward the water, guiding the eye gently from the vegetation to the bay. The small yellow and reddish reflections distributed among them provide rhythm and prevent this area from appearing uniform.

Towards the center opens a large mass of yellow and golden flowers that illuminate the entire garden. This group constitutes one of the brightest points of the composition and seems to reflect the clarity of the sky. The yellows mix with ochres, oranges and greens, producing a warm transition toward the red flowers on the right. The intensity of this color brings joy and conveys the fullness of a spring or summer day.

The right side is dominated by vivid red flowers. They form a dense cluster that stands out over the darker vegetation and immediately draws the eye. Around them are distributed small yellow, white, orange and pink flowers, creating a rich chromatic combination. The red introduces energy and passion within a landscape mainly characterized by calm.

Between the flowers rise slender stems, elongated leaves and branches that add movement. Some plants seem to lean slightly, as if a breeze from the water blew through the garden. The vegetative forms intertwine and form a natural net full of small details. This richness makes the foreground a living space and allows one to imagine the aromas, sounds and freshness of the place.

On the right side stands a large tree with hanging branches that frames the view. Its dark canopy descends in long green masses dotted with small white and light reflections. The tree provides shade and creates a strong contrast with the luminosity of the flowers and the town. Its presence acts as a green curtain that protects the garden and directs the gaze toward the central part.

The descending branches of the tree seem to merge with the flowers placed beneath them. Deep greens, almost black in some spots, give depth and stability to this area. Among the foliage appear small pink, yellow and orange notes suggesting flowers or reflections of light. The tree thus acts as a great natural frame balancing visually the open expanse of the water.

The bay occupies the center of the composition and extends with blue, green and grayish tones. Its surface appears calm, with slight variations suggesting gentle undulations. There are no big waves nor signs of agitation, so the water transmits rest and stability. The breadth of this area offers a visual rest against the abundance of details in the garden.

On the water are observed small light reflections from the boats and shore buildings. Some areas seem illuminated by the sky, while others take on deeper and darker tones. The sea or lake functions as a transitional space between the nearby garden and the distant town. Its serenity unifies all elements and provides a fresh atmosphere.

Along the opposite shore numerous boats of varied colors are distributed. Red, yellow, brown, green and white boats stand in line facing the town. Some seem moored, while others might be slightly away from the coast. Their presence introduces human activity without breaking the general quiet of the landscape.

The small boats add a succession of color points that enliven the central band. Their small sizes allow understanding the distance between the viewer and the opposite shore. The reflections appearing beneath some of them prolong their colors on the water. Although no people are observed, the vessels suggest the fishing or maritime life of the town.

The town extends horizontally at the foot of the hills. The buildings, represented in white, cream and slightly yellowish tones, form a bright band contrasting with the dark mountain. The structures appear very close to each other, forming a compact small community beside the water. The simplicity of their shapes reinforces the sense of a traditional locality.

In the center of the town a church with a slender tower stands out. Its vertical silhouette rises above the roofs and becomes the main architectural reference of the scene. The tower adds identity to the town and establishes a delicate contrast with the horizontal lines of the shore and the water. Its presence allows imagining a peaceful community life, organized around the harbor and the church.

Behind the town several hills rise covered with dark vegetation. Their rounded shapes traverse the horizon from left to right and visually protect the locality. Deep greens, browns and violets of the mountains contrast with the clarity of the houses. This opposition makes the town seem illuminated from within the landscape.

The hills do not present great elevations, but gentle undulations that accompany the serenity of the whole. Some areas appear lighter and suggest paths, exposed areas or changes in the vegetation. The central mountain acquires a particularly dark tone that enhances the church tower. Towards the ends, the relief descends and allows the landscape to gradually open up.

The sky occupies a wide upper band and is covered by large clouds in white, cream, yellow and gray tones. Among them appear small bluish gaps that provide depth and suggest changing weather. The clouds are not threatening, but voluminous and luminous. Their presence helps distribute a soft light over the town, the water and the garden.

The composition is organized through a clear succession of planes. First the lush garden; then the calm bay; then the boats and the town; finally the hills and the sky. This sequence guides the eye from the closest details to the horizon’s breadth. The viewer seems to stand at a privileged viewpoint, surrounded by flowers and protected by the shade of the tree.

The landscape evokes a place dedicated to rest and contemplation. It could be the garden of a house facing a small coastal town, from which its inhabitants observe the boats and the port’s activity daily. The scene allows imagining a fresh morning or a bright afternoon, accompanied by the scent of the flowers and the distant sound of water.
