賣家描述

Portuguese early 19th century elegant galheteiro, of exceptional workmanship, consisting of a silver relief-and-cut framework and a set of blown and polished glass cruets, richly decorated with gold-plated fine gold. The circular base, set on a raised foot, features an elaborate neoclassical-inspired pierced decoration, executed in cut silver with geometric and botanical motifs. In the center rises an elegant turned shaft, topped by a mobile-cut wing, allowing the piece to be carried — a characteristic solution of the apparatus galheteiros produced in the first decades of the 19th century. The set retains four original transparent glass containers intended for olive oil, vinegar and condiments. The cruets present delicate hand-applied gilded decoration, consisting of friezes, garlands, stylized leaves and floral motifs, complemented by equally decorated glass caps. The molded handles confer elegance and functionality to the set. The silver frame bears the Lisbon municipal marks of the assay master José Joaquim da Costa, dated between 1810 and 1822 (mark L-38.0b), as well as the mark of the prestigious goldsmith Joaquim Prudêncio Vital Dinis, registered in 1812 and documented until 1852 (mark L-443.0), constituting an important testimony of Portuguese goldsmithing in the late Janonian (Joanino) and Neoclassical period. A piece of high historical and collecting interest, representative of the luxurious tables of the Portuguese aristocracy and upper middle class in the first half of the 19th century. Condition: Good overall condition, compatible with age. Shows signs of use; one of the glass caps is broken and two caps are missing, as described. The silver structure remains solid and well preserved.
