賣家描述
Akazu Ware Shino Matcha Tea Bowl by Nobuaki Kato with Signed Tomobako
Item Description:
A Japanese Shino matcha tea bowl made within the Akazu pottery tradition. It features a thick ivory-white glaze, a richly textured surface, and soft gray markings around the exterior.
The gently undulating rim and rounded, slightly irregular form give the bowl a warm handmade character. The interior is smoothly glazed, while the foot is largely unglazed and bears an impressed artist’s mark.
The bowl comes with its signed and inscribed original wooden storage box (tomobako), stamped wrapping cloth, and artist leaflet.
No obvious chips or cracks are visible in the photographs. The wooden box, cloth, and leaflet show age-related wear, staining, folds, and fraying. Please examine the photographs carefully for the condition and details.
Artist:
Nobuaki Kato (加藤伸明) served as the head of Sanpoen Kiln in Seto, Aichi Prefecture. Sanpoen is rooted in the Akazu pottery tradition and is particularly known for Oribe ware. Kato inherited the kiln’s traditional techniques from his father and also produced tea wares such as this Shino matcha bowl.
