Innkeeper and chef at the legendary tavern of the same name in Rassing (Traisental). For years, he watched with dismay as many old vineyards in the region fell into disrepair, with no new generation of winemakers stepping in to take them over.

To preserve this historic heritage, he launched the "Vergessene Weingärten" (Forgotten Vineyards) project alongside two winemaker friends, Jürgen Leitamayer and Tom Dockner. It kicked off in 2019 with "antwurti," a rosé. They were followed in 2020 by a light red ("bilithi"), a Veltliner ("blidi"), and the aromatic "bina."

These are field blends vinified without any fuss or frills. Aged in used wood, spontaneously fermented, and matured on the fine lees. Clean and precise. For anyone who appreciates "classy with a twist," this is an incredibly exciting addition to our range.
