賣家描述

Exclusive 100% Organic Combed Cotton fabric, Oeko-Tex Standard certified, very soft to the touch, with a medium weight of 230 g/m².
An unparalleled quality.
The “Pettinata” finish gives this fabric a velvety softness to the touch.
A guarantee for this prestigious William Morris fabric. Try it to believe it!

This cotton fabric features a refined ornamental motif in William Morris style, inspired by the “Wandle” pattern, characterized by a rhythmic and symmetric structure with strong visual impact.

At the center of the composition appear wide floral rosettes inspired by the leaves of the acanthus, with open and branched fronds radiating out to form a natural frame.

Around the main motif runs a dense interlacing of small bell-shaped flowers, rendered with thin, sinuous lines, typical of the Arts & Crafts world. The overall effect is balanced, rich but not heavy, thanks to the regular repetition of the pattern that creates a continuous and harmonious effect.

These elements belong to one of Morris’s most complex patterns: “Wandle” (designed between 1883 and 1884).

The color palette is delicate and sophisticated:
- Olive green and forest green for the main leaves,
- Pale yellow and pale gold for the decorative fronds,
- Bluish-gray for the small flowers scattered on the background,
- Light ivory as the base, which brightens the design without losing the vintage finesse.

The result is an elegant fabric, with a classic imprint but surprisingly current, ideal for interiors seeking a touch of history and style without excess.

Wandle takes its name from the river of the same name that flowed near Morris’s printing works at Merton Abbey.
It is one of the most intricate designs in Morris’s entire production: an explosion of acanthus, bellflowers and dense branching, with a complexity almost textile even in the printed version.

William Morris (Walthamstow, 24 March 1834 – London, 3 October 1896) was a British artist and writer.

Morris was among the leading founders of the Arts and Crafts movement; he is considered a pioneer of modern designers and had a significant influence on the architecture and architects of his time.

He is regarded by many as the father of the Modern Movement, although he was not an architect himself. He founded a design studio in collaboration with the artist Edward Burne-Jones and the poet and artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti, who deeply influenced the decoration of churches and houses in the twentieth century.
He also made an important contribution to the revival of traditional textile arts and the associated production methods.
