Junghans 德国旅行报时钟 – 二十世纪初
Original German mechanical travel alarm clock made by Junghans, dating from the early 20th century.
The clock has an elegant rectangular metal case with glazed side panels, gilt decorative details around the dial and a folding carrying handle. The white dial is particularly attractive, with large Arabic numerals, an additional 24-hour scale, a subsidiary seconds dial and a separate alarm-setting dial.
The dial and movement bear the characteristic Junghans star trademark. The movement is additionally marked 291a.
The mechanical movement is in good working order. The clock runs properly and the alarm mechanism is also fully functional, producing a clear sound from the bell located inside the base.
The clock is exceptionally well preserved for its age. There are only minor traces of use and ageing, mainly light surface marks and patina consistent with an object more than a century old. The dial, glass panels, case and decorative elements remain in very good overall condition.
Dimensions: approx. 15 × 13 × 10 cm
Manufacturer: Junghans
Origin: Germany
Period: Early 20th century
Movement: Mechanical, hand-wound
Functions: Time, seconds indication, alarm
Condition: Very good, fully functional, with minimal age-related wear
A fine and increasingly uncommon example of an early Junghans travel alarm clock, combining an attractive architectural case with an unusually elaborate dial.
