Item Description:
A charming set of two small Japanese suiseki / viewing stones, each displayed on its own fitted wooden daiza. The pair presents contrasting forms and natural surface patterns, making them suitable for intimate display in a tokonoma, study, or suiseki collection.

Left: Takanejima Stone (高根島石) – Tateishi / Upright Stone
A compact upright viewing stone with a naturally dramatic, rising silhouette. Its dark gray to black surface has a rugged texture and subtle mineral markings, giving the stone the impression of a steep mountain peak or isolated rock formation. The stone is accompanied by a dark wooden daiza shaped to support its distinctive form.

Right: Shimanto River Stone “Shinka-ishi” (四万十川石 神火石)
A rounded river stone from the Shimanto River, characterized by an attractive dark field with contrasting beige-brown natural markings. The layered pattern resembles a distant landscape, clouds, or flowing terrain, offering different interpretations depending on the viewing angle. It is presented on a fitted elongated wooden daiza.

Both stones retain their natural character and show the irregularities, color variations, and surface textures expected of naturally formed viewing stones. Please examine the photographs carefully for the condition and individual characteristics.
